BASH & R INITIATION

<Training programs

Objectives :

To understand bash & R basics applied to bioinformatics and biostatistics.

Level of trainees :

Open to all (biologists, biostatisticians, project managers etc.).

Prerequisites :

Basic knowledge of biology and programming is helpful but not mandatory.

Duration and location :

Duration : 7 hours over 1 day.
Location : Soladis training center in Paris or Lyon (to consult the calendar, please click on “Sign up”) or directly at your site (minimum of 4 people).

“The volume of data in biological or non-biological data analysis makes it necessary to use programmatic methods to carry out projects, especially in the field of omics. Thus, the use of command lines and their shells, such as Bash, is necessary as the majority of programs in bioinformatics are only available in command lines. Once the results are obtained, it is generally useful to be able to analyze them, especially from a statistical point of view, and R is perfectly adpated to that purpose, both by the existence of a large community of developers and users, by the existence of specific functions for various applications or by its ability to manage large volumes of data.”

Soladis invites you to participate to this training course on Bash and R programming which aims to enable you to start manipulating these two programming languages which are among the most used by bioinformaticians and biostatisticians and to start analyzing your data by yourself. This course is intended for anyone with no particular experience in programming or for those who, knowing other computer languages, would like to familiarize themselves with the basics of bash and/or R. In particular, trainees planning to take part in the other “omics” courses offered by Soladis can only benefit from this course in order to take better advantage of the practical aspects of the other modules.
