An introduction to design of experiments

Objectives :

Learn how to  set up experiments (number, organization, constraints) and to exploit the results obtained.

Included: training in experimental designs allowing to test the sensitivity of one or several factors

Level of trainees :

All sectors technicians or engineers.

Duration and location :

  • Duration : 21 hours over 3 days

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN

  • Problematic defintion (choice of features and responses, description of the phenomenon)
  • Experimental strategies and set up of an adapted design of experiments
  • Experimental constraints (randomization, blocks, blind tests, sample size)
  • Testing
  • Analysis of results, conclusion and validation

SCREENING DESIGN

  • Full factorial design
  • Fractional factorial design
  • Plackett-Burman, Rechtschaffner, Taguchi
